Flat Earth Earns Global Trade Certification
Butte, Montana
Flat Earth Imports has earned Global Trade Certification through the Montana World Trade Center (www.mwtc.org) and the Montana Governor's Office of Economic Development.
The Global Trade Certification Program encourages participants to pursue best practices, learning from experts in the fields of international law, U.S. trade policy and international banking, as well as business peers in the process of developing their foreign markets. Program organizers have set two objectives for the certification program: 1) Provide business leaders with the tools and resources needed to build a foundation that supports global business opportunities and growth; and 2) Create a professional network and support system to help
Montana companies increase market capabilities and expand into global markets. This program is pursuant of the Montana World Trade Center’s mission to help Montana businesses understand and compete in the global marketplace. The Montana World Trade Center is an associated member of a network of 300 World Trade Centers worldwide, offering its members access to these offices and their services in 100 countries.
For Flat Earth Imports, the program is an opportunity to expand its established and continually growing international network of consociates.
The Global Trade Certification program consisted of three segments, each segment consisting of two, day-long sessions. The group convened over the course of three months, examining topics and ideas within three categories, each corresponding to a program segment: 1) Who, Why and When: Globalization and the Local Economy & Evaluation of Global Potential; 2) How to Develop a Global Strategy: Global Sales, Marketing, Logistics & Distribution; and 3) Putting it all Together: Global Transactions & Application to Industry.
Montana Business covered the Global Trade Certification program, quoting Flat Earth President and Cofounder Kitch Walker; read that story here.
