Italian Government Promotes Manufacturers
Rome, Italy
The Italian government continues investing in programs intended to connect more Italian manufacturers with markets in the United States.
A story from Macro World Investor on October 3, 2007 reported that Italy's Europe minister, Emma Bonino, has announced total investments of 300 million Euros in a bid to strengthen and maintain 'the Italian export boom'. According to that article, "two thirds of the money will go (over the next three years) to Simest, the body charged with promoting the internationalization of Italian businesses, while 11 million Euros of profits generated in recent years by the organization are also to be reinvested. Furthermore, resources given to foreign trade institute ICE to promote Italian products abroad will increase."
The Italian Trade Commission (aka The Italian Institute for Foreign Trade) is the government agency entrusted with promoting trade, business opportunities and industrial cooperation between Italian and foreign companies. To learn more about this agency, click here.
